I just love octopuses. I went through a period where I made so many octopus patterns, both cross stitch and crochet. I created several of my own cross stitch patterns, and the Artistic Octopus Cross Stitch Pattern was one of the first I made.
I went through a quick thought of what I would hold with my tentacles if I were an octopus, and the first thing I thought of? Art supplies! That led me down a road of imagining an octopus in a beret, which tickled me, and thus this pattern was born. It has only been recently that I realized this special octopus has six tentacles instead of eight 🤦🏻♀️whoops.
